Highlights from the 2023 CTD Conference.

The Area 4 Family Care Council is excited to present their 7th Annual Connecting the Dots (CTD) Conference. This wonderful, educational conference provides advocates and families with up-to-date information on supports, services, and local community resources for individuals with developmental disabilities.
The conference will also host breakout sessions with presentations on a variety of topics affecting the lives of individuals with unique abilities. Topics cover Early Intervention through Elder Care for individuals with various disabilities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with more than 70 local and statewide resource exhibitors. About the Keynote Speaker
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Amy Lutz, author and parent advocate for children and adults with severe intellectual disabilities.
Dr. Lutz has written about severe autism for many platforms, including The Atlantic, Slate, Spectrum, and Psychology Today. Her third book, Chasing the Intact Mind: How the Severely Autistic and Intellectually Disabled Were Excluded from the Debates that Affect Them Most, will be published [or was published, depending on when you’re releasing this bio] in October; her previous books are We Walk: Life with Severe Autism (2020) and Each Day I Like It Better: Autism, ECT, and the Treatment of Our Most Impaired Children (2014). She is a historian of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Vice-President of the National Council on Severe Autism (NCSA). She lives outside Philadelphia with her husband and whichever of her five kids happens to be home at the time. |
